Meals on Wheels

Warren County, TN

About Us

AGENCY MISSION STATEMENT:

To promote the dignity and independence of the disabled, the elderly and other homebound persons by delivering nutritious meals and coordinating needed services.

In 1977, the Warren County Home Delivery Meals Program began serving 50 clients in Warren County with two employees and five delivery routes.  One of the original objectives of the program was to increase the number of people being served.  The needs of the county were greater than the program could accommodate in the early years.  Since that time, the program has grown to over 200 clients, five employees, and twelve delivery routes.  The agency has been in operation for 41 years. The future goals of the program include adding clients as funds and volunteers become available. The target population of the Meals on Wheels program is the elderly and disabled individuals of Warren County who are in need of hot, nutritious meals that they cannot provide for themselves.

This past year the program has served over 52,000 meals and will increase that number this next year.  Approximately 220 nutritious meals were served five days a week. The program also has several clients who receive meals for the week-end.  The elderly population is living longer and the needs of this program are growing. It will take a generous community to keep the funds available to meet these needs. The major challenge of the program has always been and continues to be funding.  Please consider helping financially. A small donation can help so many helpless individuals.
